Your larger point is accurate. People will complain about anything. But the Cena shyt, it's like this. I think if he just passed out, people would be like cool, whatever. But his whole mantra is "Never Give Up" and he could have rode that wave deep into his retirement, the guy who never gave up no matter what. That tap out was weak as fukk for that reason :mjlol:
Nah man, people don't lose their shyt like they did last night over a nitpick like tapping out vs passing out. This is clearly fans lashing out over the past year of WWE booking/product.

If this same retirement match and finish happens in December 2024 you'd have like 90% of people that are complaining right now praising the ending, saying they made Gunther the biggest threat possible, they'd be eager to see what's next for him and who could potentially overcome him and they'd be praising Cena for putting him over like that (with a tap out).

Context matters and in that sense, a happy ending would've probably been the best PR move for the company/HHH. But they went the more logical ending of the old guy finally tapping out and ending his "Never Give Up" character in his last match ever (hopefully Juan sticks to his word).

Idk bout, that mfs be in here doing it in the 2k25 just fine :pachaha:

There's children playing WWE 2K that could book better shows than Triple H.
:mjlol:

People said this dumb shyt when Cokeboy was running things too. I was talking particularly to the Russos and the Cornettes running their mouths. The booking isn't really good right now, but I'm not going to say some 8 year old can book a better show and be serious about it.

People talk so much shyt about booking but that shyt is hard fukking work. Every single stooge flapping their gums had their shot at booking a show and they've been in charge of some awful shyt.

That being said WWE has been incredibly bland for pretty much all of 2025.

That kind of bullshyt gives old cacs like Bruce and Freebird lifetime work

I'm sure there are people who are fed up. It's been a shytty year. My thing with the tap out vs. pass out is this: When your whole character is "Never Give Up" and it's even tied to everything you do outside of the ring like the Make-A-Wish kids, etc.. then you should probably never give up. You get pinned, fine. You pass out, fine. But that tapout? It came off as weak to me lol. That's how I read it.

Some shyt in wrestling should just be. The Undertaker shouldn't have lost his streak unless it was really going to elevate someone and I didn't think it did a lot for Brock, Brock was already Brock.

We will see shortly what this does for Gunther. They can't just have him doing bullshyt out there now.

My point is that you can like or dislike the way he lost, but the level of vitriol over it is not just about the ending of the match. No one gets this riled up (not saying you are, obviously that's not the case) over something so nitpicky, it goes beyond that.

Imagine how fukking bummed everyone would have been if Sting lost his last match. The veil has been not just pierced but shredded for the better part of 30 years now. This shyt is expensive, even kids know how it all works. WWE is and has been so aggressively against sending crowds home happy since about 2001 and it's like....man this shyt is so expensive, you're basically doing nothing for 8 months of the year, to do a finish you know is going to suck the wind out of the place and then laugh about it and troll fans after is just :childplease:

Ric Flair said you gon have to put me down to get me outta here
Cena should've been the same
They tried to get too clever for their own good
I don't buy this is an old man who decided to give up now in that moment
Cena winning would've been trash but this should've been done better
And tapping to a choke no less?
That's not even something where you have to preserve your body
So if we want to get more clever and nuanced with them it still doesn't work

I don't see why Cena couldn't have gone out a winner and given the fans a feel good moment. Even if it were against a young talent, that person would still have plenty of opportunities to keep rising up the card. Unlike Gunther who is arguably a top 5 guy in the company past couple years or since the thunderdome era.

What's interesting is gonna be the way things play out for the other four important young wrestlers involved in the show. How things look 3, 6, and 12 months from now. And not just a surprise rumble appearance for any of them. Let's see where they all stand by end of 2026. Cena had his run, let's see what the future gives us.

You ever get tired of running with this shyt? It’s gotta be exhausting
Nope :ehh:

You ever get tired of carrying water for a company you don’t even watch or for other men? :dame:
That guy was wrong about his AEW dying take and everyone made fun of him so now he's tripling down :mjlol:
Was wrong about TNA moving to Wednesdays too lol. Now he’s banking on Netflix buying out Warner Bros to finally vanquish AEW once and for all :lolbron:

Lakers in 5 against who? Y'all got three traffic cones out there on defense lmaoo. I love that my guy Castle from UCONN is a big part of this Spurs team. Wemby/Fox/Castle is a formidable opponent for these OKC muthafukkas out west

My last post on it for now lol, I gotta go be a boyfriend
