All the guys at the top rn got like 2-3 years minimum at the top (Cody, Seth, Roman if he around, Punk) etc obviously there will be fresh faces at the top to be in the mix.


But this has always been the case in wrestling. Except for the times when promotions were forced to switch it up.

Vince only created new stars out of thin air when he was forced too.

-losing to wcw in the ratings so he created the attitude era
- losing both the rock to Hollywood and Austin always hurt he made Brock Lesnar the main event in his first year
-Brock left so Vince pushed dudes like Cena and Batista

Sidenote: it’s fukking funny we love talking about age in here when Batista was fukking like 36 years old… something we like to make a big problem about now lol

Every promotion sticks with their top guys until the wheels fall off and it’s officially time…. Not because IWC says so but because ticket sales and ratings are down

The only promotion suffering right now to this logic is njpw.


We love complaining about the same faces in wwe but Okada/tanahashi/Naito and company circling around the main event for ten years we loved a lot lol

Njpw isn’t the same now but that’s could contribute to booking, lack of talent choices, and not having a backup plan when the wheels eventually fell off


Wwe and AEW can rely on old guys until the wheels fall off because they’re are so many god damn wrestlers under 40, 30. They will find another one.



I can’t remember what year it was, but I used to listen to old WORs when I followed them when they weren’t bias and actually produced quality content.

That time might be now, because clearly the ratings and overall apathy towards the product has them pivoting towards new things. HHH's carte blanche booking is only allowed when the numbers show that it's working.
