I knew that wrestling burnout was coming as soon as shyt got hot. There’s just too much of an over abundance of it. WWE themselves have 3 shows on tv every week, sometimes one on the weekend, and 2 of the 3 are on stream services. There was no real way people were gonna keep running to this shyt.. especially with the product itself going downhill and wrestling itself not really being an “urgent” watch you just NEED to see live (unlike actual sports where the market for watching AFTER it’s airs doesn’t exist)
They were never gonna realistically keep that momentum lol
What ends up happening is the people who picked it up during the hot period get bored and tune out, and the die hards like us who’ve been watching through thick and thin, still watch despite being clearly burnt out and disinterested. It gets to a point where we’re hate-watching out of routine and airing our grievances instead of just turning the channel like everyone else is doing according to them numbers lol
