That’s exactly what. If I’m following a redemption story of Carmelo Hayes it includes the US title he did a 7 match series for. With the expansion of the women’s division about a decade ago, what suffered was the mid card one on one non title feud that doesn’t involve a main eventer. If he’s not gonna join a faction or be in a tag team, it’s going to be over a mid card title for what you want to happen.

There’s no way that could be the true retirement of John Cena.

I hate that Melo has not had a single feud on main. That’s what’s held him back most IMO


He had a cool best of series with Andrade, and him and Miz had the seeds there but none of it made it past the wrestle a few matches and move on stage. That’s what makes me most upset about how he’s been used…


Like imagine having Y2J on your roster in 2001 but instead of him having story driven feuds with Chyna, Benoit, Angle etc. he just wrestled super competative matches against main eventers (in losing efforts) here and there… and that’s it


I might not be as critical to WWE when it comes to Melo as some of you because I still see him as a big part of the future and I don’t get too emotional about this stuff, BUT we can all agree that’s not enough for someone with his talent. I think they’re on the right track now though
