Does it matter that this person was real or that he went off on some weird tangent again surrounded by black folks no less :skip:
Yeah. Even if it’s real wtf is the point of telling this story while campaigning for prez in 2019?

Guess he wants street cred.

The most cringey part to me was when he said when you use pomade you have to wear a bathing cap. That was “hot sauce in my bag” all over again.

I dont care if its true, that was a weird story to tell on a campaign stop.
Exactly.

IDGAF if you was front line in the LA gang funk during the 80s and 90s, what does that have to do you with you being President in 2020?

:stopitslime:

And just because you found some cat named Corn Pop, we still don't know his side of the story. For all we know he was running Joe's pockets on the regular but now that he gone Joe telling us a whole other thing. Let that man rest in peace and stick to how you going to help black folks instead of trying to stereotypically pander to your colonizer mentality of their culture.

Yeah it seems the point was to show that he tamed the scary black gangster and earned his street cred. It’s the most base level of appealing to black voters...”I’m good in the hood.”

If he really did develop a relationship with Corn Pop after that incident, I think it would’ve been more appropriate to talk about his life and struggles coming up as a black man in the segregated 60’s.

Seriously though I'm from the South guarantee there's at least 10 brothers got that nickname in just my county. The South gets stupid with it, then everybody turns 18 and gets mad people still keep using their silly ass old nickname.

Uncle 1: "This is my brother, Thomas. Meet my fiance, Annie Mae"
Uncle 2: "Bookie, stop clowning! Nice to meet you girl, I'm Corn Pop :myman: "
