TYRONE GA!
The qualifying offer from Cleveland expired tonight and can no longer be signed

He's still a restricted free agent and basically under Cleveland’s control for a minimum of two seasons

His options are to sign an offer sheet with another team that has capspace(which Cavs will almost certainly match), sign a contract with Cleveland or sit out

In the unlikely situation he sits out, he would just be a RFA again next summer

He basically threw away all his leverage

:laff:

What an idiot....

This seems unprecedented. I can't remember something like this happening before in the NBA.

Interestingly enough, Pavlovic and Varejao both held out on the Cavs back in 2007

Pavlovic ended up signing with the Cavs just before opening night

Varejao's holdout extended into December when he signed an offer sheet with the Bobcats, and the Cavs immediately matched
