oh brother...this movie is gonna bomb. Shame cuz I actually really enjoyed this. Having never seen any Tron movie before I actually dug this alot. Maybe it's cuz the last couple of movies I seen were dog shyt...but those 2 hours flew by. Non stop action. Pretty sweet visuals. Dope soundtrack on them Dolby speakers. But boy was my theater empty. This shyt finna lose some money. But worth watching in theaters imo.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. The last Tron movie is 15 years old, and there wasn't exactly overwhelming demand for a new one.

And the trailers I've seen didn't really offer much about the movie other than it probably looks cool. I'll check it when it's on Disney Plus.

I don't think it's even going to make half it's budget. Thought it was decent film, Dolby 3D format was cool. Kind of rolled my eyes though with the chase scene on the motorcycles

Meh. Story had some baffling moments and they added that Marvel humor to it

As expected, the music and effects carried this film hard. This is easily the weakest of the 3 Tron movies. Greta Lee tried her best with the script she was given

I mean…..you don’t really go to see a Tron movie for the acting

I liked it, it was the weakest of the trilogy for sure. It didn’t really feel like the stakes were high bringing stuff from the grid into the real world. Instead of “I’m bringing you in to our world to do my bidding” it should’ve instantly turned left with AI saying “why the fk am I taking orders from you?!”
And then make it a humans vs computers disaster movie. Hell they could’ve really got into the first Renaissance Animatrix and/or gone full terminator with better Tron visuals but they made it more of a “hey let’s go kill the lady because our maker said so” when they were supposed to start gaining sentience etc.
Missed opportunity, and this one really didn’t take advantage of 3d like Legacy did. Leto dragged the movie down, and AHS villain dude was nothing but a whiney bytch the entire movie.

The script was also pretty fkn terrible, the way they were talking in run on sentences was driving me fkn crazy

As a lifelong TRON fan, this was cool. The stakes weren't high enough - as in the next step in the TRON evolution is what happens with the programs gain sentience in the real world. They should've leaned more into Athena taking a different understanding of her commands and going cray cray. By the time they did, it was too late. I did like the Terminator-esque plot, but once again, the stakes weren't high enough...especially for the chases and bringing it into the real world. And they didn't take a leap forward in the Grid aesthetics.

But, it's visually stunning...the soundtrack is amazing...Greta Lee did a good job with what was given. Overall, it seems like a segue into a larger TRON universe. They could've did this entire plot as exposition.

It was never about the movie.
Disney wants to bring attention to its “new” roller coaster at Disney World brought over from Shanghai so kids have some kind of connection to the franchise. Those that were kids in 2010 are adults now and not buying merch like us old asses, so to dust off an old ip that needed little effort they trotted out this pretty piece of shyt
