TROOPER WHO STOPPED SANDRA BLAND INDICTED FOR PERJURY

HOUSTON (KTRK) --
A grand jury in Waller County has issued an indictment in the Sandra Bland case.

Last month, the grand jury cleared the Waller County Sheriff's Office and jailers of any criminal wrongdoing in Bland's death. But the trooper who first stopped Bland in her car has now been indicted on a perjury charge.

Bland was found hanging in her jail cell just days after her arrest. Her death was ruled a suicide.
