:wow:

He's exactly right:yeshrug:I love what he is doing.

I'd like to add 2 things on though on a different front - the volunteering side.

People really do want to help, they need to know WHERE to go, and WHO needs the help. People can't be nervous to ask for assistance. I think there is less of this than in normal times right now because this disaster affected so many people from such a wide range of backgrounds and areas. However, Texans are very independent and often don't like asking for help.

Second, we need to make sure through this process that we not only are helping with the labor and resources but also with knowledge. We need to empower other volunteers and victims with the know how to fix their homes, what to get, how to do it, and why.

This is what I really focus on when I'm out there, patiently explaining to the people what they can/need to do once the workday is over to continue the process.
