I enjoy Ernest's writing but his Twitter response rubbed me the wrong way. nikkas always wanna jump back on the Black side when they get bit in the ass by cacs.

"You're really gonna believe a woman who calls Black people ****** when she gets mad"?

Should we believe the Black man who was in a relationship with a white woman who calls Black people ****** when she gets mad?

I don't believe her but he's on his own with this shyt that he brought on himself. You can't sleep with the devil and act surprised when you get burned.

Damn, story's on Page Six now. It's a wrap for Ernest Baker. True or not, these allegations stick to you like glue when they reach this level of coverage

This music journalist has a big domestic violence problem

Ernest Baker, a popular music writer, has been arrested following a domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend, which took place earlier this year.

Lauren Nostro, managing editor of Complex Music, has corroborated a bombshell claim that Baker sent her to the hospital in May following a heated argument that turned violent.

The allegations first surfaced on Wednesday evening, when writer Meaghan Garvey tweeted, “Your fav ‘rap journalist’ put his ex-gf in the hospital & ducked the bill, but keep telling me about the misogyny of a thinkpiece.”

“‘How to abuse women,’ in stores Nevruary 13th,”she continued.

When some of her followers began to inquire whom she was alluding to, Garvey responded by retweeting a recent post from Baker (a boisterous figure in the online music journalism community who has written for Billboard, Rolling Stone and The Fader), where he lists some of his achievements in 2015.

Three hours after Garvey posted her initial tweet, Nostro addressed the incident herself, beginning with a tweet that read, “No one is ever who they seem to be” before sharing an image of herself with a gash on her chin.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to Page Six that Nostro and Baker were involved in a domestic violence incident on May 5 at 11:30 p.m. at their Bed-Stuy apartment.

The couple, who were going through a breakup, argued over keys and unpaid bills. During the argument, Nostro allegedly broke Baker’s ATM card in half, prompting Baker to choke her before tossing her inside a closet. Nostro fell, hitting her chin on the ground which caused a laceration requiring her to get almost 20 stitches at Woodhull Medical Center. She filed a police report regarding the incident on Sept. 20.

Baker was arrested on Nov. 19 for misdemeanor assault, harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing and menacing. He was arraigned and freed without bail.

Baker is the author of the forthcoming book “How to Date White Women” from Grand Central Publishing, inspired by his June 2014 Gawker article, “The Reality of Dating White Women When You’re Black.” In the wake of the accusations, rumors have started to circulate that he has been dropped by the publisher.

On Thursday afternoon, Baker took to Twitter to refute claims he ever got physical with Nostro, while leveling several serious allegations at his ex.

Baker wrote in a two page statement. “My ex-girlfriend is a racist abusive liar and the scar that she carries on her face is, sadly, a direct result of her violence.”

He continued:

The incident that created all of this drama happened one night seven months ago when she punched me in the face multiple times. She was in a rage, angry because she believed I wasn’t paying my share of our remaining bills together, and insulting my new girlfriend, who she was furious with me for moving on to so quickly. First, she tried to destroy my iPhone, debit card and driver’s license. Then she punched me in the face all of those times. I stood there and took it because I know that you don’t put your hands on a woman, no matter what.

Baker claims Nostro has spent the seven months since the incident extorting him, claiming he’s paid her “thousands of dollars in the aftermath of our split.” He also states that while “it is imperative to believe women” in cases of domestic violence, “in some cases, like the one with my ex-girlfriend, people lie.”

More than a domestic violence issue, this is a race issue. And it disgusts me that innocent black men ares till wrongly crucified in 2015. But I’m gonna be the one who goes down because a dishonest, morally bankrupt racist lied on me … My ex-girlfriend’s motive for trying to sabotage my reputation and career could not be more obvious. Her bitterness and jealousy have damaged me but my evidence will damage her more. No one is ever who they seem to be.

When reached, Garvey and Nostro both declined to comment, while Grand Central Publishing has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

A lawyer for Baker confirmed that there is legal action pending in criminal court regarding the alleged domestic violence incident.

And reading Ernest's story, it doesn't surprise me at all that some white hip-hop editor at complex is lowkey racist

I was just about to say why are we ignoring the fact that a white Cacplex editor is comfortable with saying the N word while making money off of black music
