He's not the one, I agree.

But IMO he's turning up the boil in the city and breh got good music:ehh:
His music is boring to me, and his movement is forced. Nobody outside of the city gives a fukk and truthfully maybe 1 out of 5 nikkas I know here in NY actually check for his tapes.

Troy ave is not special man.

Look man, I'm a bias New Yorker. I want somebody, Anybody to win from here. I've given him chance after chance after chance. His music is so mediocre and boring.

Troy ave is winning off pure grind and persistence, and because people want a New York artists to blow so bad. But how far is that gonna get him because the talent ain't really there

I agree with some poster that hip hop should always have a core in the hood/streets. Like others have said that where it came from. My thing with troy is dude comes off ingnorant as fuk. His analogy of havings would you rather your kid be the dealer vs the fiend speaks to that. His whole I'm a street nikka we should be looked up to vibe is dumb as shyt as well. He is like an old 2000 hip hop stereotype that's trying to come back.

That's and his attitute and mindset that I've heard from his interview so, I almost don't want him to win. I don't think its good for our culture to go back in that direction. Does the new direction have flaws, yes. However, the fact that you don't have to sell coke or front like you have killed people to make urban music is good thing.

But, I do respect his hustle. He is working hard and his songs aren't that bad. Like in another thread the ways he is building himself reminds me of adrien broner. You keep talking cocky enough then people start to believe you.

I also think ny in some way shape or form needs to come back. Just like in college sports its just better some teams/colleges are good. Hip Hop in my opinion his better overall when NY is putting out good music. It doesn't even have to be the best just strong music coming from the birthplace.

If troy can just kick the whole street/drug dealer should be on top of hip hop just because vibe I might be able follow him more.

This right here.

Hip Hop is such a different animal today. You could lack talent, but if you work hard enough to be heard, you can easily be revered as if your music is of quality. Being from NY, you can meet a ton of cats with actual talent, but if they're not working hard enough to be heard in today's climate, they'll go unnoticed. So these dudes are forgotten easily, and you feel for them. On the flip, someone who's more hype than gift, who churns out a bunch of subpar shyt, knows if they grind hard enough, they'll get some kind of love. We're in a very weird time with this music thing.

I agree he isnt a great artist. I agree he also does bite 50 way too hard.

But what you cant take away from him is his work ethic. Add to the fact hes bigging up these DJs, is a smart move. The DJs like him and you hear his music on the radio even more than these established acts. Either hes a plant with an interscope machine dumping millions into him, or he is actually working that hard. At this point hes one hit away from being major.

His music isnt 5/5 by any means. By what I will say is its good music. that has that NY swag, and holds me over until i get that next release from an industry elite:ehh:

Great post breh.
