Aside from that, realistically he hasn't had a hit, even a local hit yet. i mean its ironic, people complain about troy ave not getting love here, but as far as actual music played in nyc chinx drugz is WAY more popular. And chinx drugz gets NO mentions online. Troy Ave is doing all the industry stuff right, and he is making progress, but ultimately he needs some kind of hit before he can get to the level of 'leader of the new new york'... And dude gets spins, if he had a legitemate hit that NYC was fukkin with he would get a major push he just still 'one hit away'

I get what youre saying but it just blew my mind how uneducated people are in terms of the culture of hip hop and history. if i hear a rapper make a reference to something i don't know about, i wanna know what it is to some extent, ya know?

im a mad curious person, so i always like learning the history of something and exploring. it's how ive always been with genres or anything im mad interested in.

i feel like with the younger new generation of listeners, they have have no respect for the history or those who helped pave the way and it's mostly like that within rap.

a lot of people i know my age or older into hip hop, jazz, punk and rock music they really respect and learn the history of it to some extent.

Troy ave is bigger than Amafia by far. I live in New York. Troy ave and a-mafia aint even on the same level asfar as popularity.
