Truth is this... I fukk with Troy Ave's music... and in the streets nikkas know him, but I will say that, nobody really listens to him like that. His hype is blown way out of proportion there is no Max B shyt going on (No hate, I WANT this nikka to blow cuz the tri state NEEDS him). But my young wild nikkas listen to Meek Mill and Cheif Keef, Ross, 2Chainz, shyt like that. They not listening to no Troy Ave. They know him, they respect him, but they aint saying thats they favorite rapper or quoting his lyrics on facebook and shyt. Truthfully rapping is kinda corny in the streets to these young nikkas... it's a whatever type thing now. With that being said he's on the radio etc. I know I get it... but answer this question for me... What separates this nikka from Red Cafe???
Name me one thing that's different about them? Huge cosigns, on Hot 97 all day, Got money, In the club, poppin shyt about they lifestyle etc. but them nikkas dont be compelling enough, or "weird" enough to actually make it over the hump. The shyt he's doing has been done before.
Ima tell you what this nikka is doing and keep in mind im not a hater, and I fukk with his music... but its obvious... Troy Ave is playing on nikkas ignorance for nostalgia and using it to propel himself as the savior of street rap. It's a certain sect of nikkas who aint really net savvy or disregard everything new as "WEIRDO, TIGHT PANTS RAP etc." when really its just the culture moving forward. These the type of nikkas that still listen to 50 and was young during the G-Unit days and shyt. He just put himself in position to represent for those nikkas... He plays that up by disregarding all his competition as "WEIRD" and all that shyt but trust me that nikka dont really feel that way. He is extremely intelligent. He just hustling and im not knocking his hustle. But miss me with the dumb shyt.

To be street does not = being a gangster... Tribe was street rap, Outkast is street rap, ASAP is street rap and them nikkas moist as shyt. I like his songs tho. He's catchy he can rhyme and he works hard. But I cant get with the manipulation b. His whole campaign is some reverse hate shyt. its stupid. And mark my words its gonna come back and bite him in his ass.
just gotta watch this Troy Ave and where he moves from here cause he does have good music but lacks identity and an unarguable hit.
