It was the last great era of NY Hip Hop. Rocafella, G Unit, Dipset, The Lox and Ruff Ryders. Everyone loves the shyt they came up on, how is this any different? Ringtone rap and a cultural shift towards Southern Dance / Trap music killed NY Hip Hop.

There was a bit of a bullshyt in that era too, some of the thuggery went a bit overboard and it was the hustler mentality. Also Dipset and G-Unit were a little bit responsible for accepting that cultural shift you speak of.
