I disagree. Some MC's have made the conscious choice not to conform to a particular style of song making or sound (Immortal Technique, MF DOOM), two MC's that have made a serious, significant and respect impact on hip hop. So no.

Breh, stop it....Immortal Technique tried to get on, and couldn't....and then focused his music to something a niche would appreciate.

you don't remember this?

They have budgets to meet.

What good is your talent if you can't make money?

These major label exec's success is measured by numbers, not by how talented somebody is.....people don't get that part.

All that " so what (insert rappers album) didn't sell much, it was a good album... " shyt don't mean anything when people are tracking how the artists on the label's albums are selling, their digital downloads and chart positions.

A lot of groupies on here, the only judgement should be regarding the music.

fukk you, will compare whoever to whoever, it's about music not fame. What kind of dumbass puts Vanilla Ice over Rakim, G Rap, Kane etc cause of sales, ridiculous premise and weak argument.

Lets be honest this thread was probably inspired by you picking K Rino over Ice Cube for a top5 and acting like Krino has any sort of standing where he could even possibly be the reason why Cube aint a lock for top 5:mjlol:.....That shameless K Rino plug is why we are here today:pachaha:

the truth is, their sound doesn't appeal to this era of radio music. Most underground rap is boom bap influenced & people just want to hear something that will make them dance (which for this generation, happens to be trap beats). that's all.

I know that's probably why the thread was made. As I said that type mentality is bullshyt, which I have no time for. What is standing? It's about music and skills. And to me K-Rino is better than Cube, I don't care what anyone else thinks, that's my opinion, and lots of people who have actually heard his full discography agree with me. I'm not talking about fame or legendary status, Cube is a good rapper, and a good actor but to me K-Rino is much better as an artist and MC. I don't care if others feel different, but don't act like I'm not entitled to my opinion cause I am. And people love deflecting tactics, take K-Rino out and sttill more than 5 people better than Cube to me, and most others....

2 Pac
Nas
KRS-One
Rakim
Scarface
Jay Z
Biggie
Big Daddy Kane
Big Pun
Guru
Common
Slick Rick
Kool G Rap

And many more.

Cube isn't even top 10 to me let alone top 5.
