Think about the way "hip hop"/urban media plays a role. When we aren't getting hit with nonstop toxic headlines about d-list celebrities (rapper's girlfriends, reality tv stars, etc) we're seeing a lot of scam and hustler shyt. The message is always "check out this person who didn't work hard but has millions of dollars from their business." Trucking company without a driver's license, investment portfolio with no stocks, flipping houses without owning houses, LLC without a business plan, nurse without a nursing degree. Nonstop the narrative being pushed to people revolve around slick shyt to get by and half assed cons to get over. Don't work hard, don't go to college, don't learn a trade...but if you have x amount of CASH you can flip it by following these easy steps. It's nauseating...and, I think, a very deliberate attack on black minds.

We've got people thinking owning a business means you're on vacation nonstop while your business magically runs itself. We've got people laughing at 9-5 jobs. None of these sentiments are natural. No one comes out the womb thinking school is a waste of time. These are learned behaviors, sentiments, and mentalities that our media reinforces.
