Trash dude definitely gearing up for Vietnam 2. I am afraid that’s going to mess with the investigation some. Ali’s character in 1990 had already alluded to the people in the town being paranoid. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a home made bouncing Betty in that bag.
I am looking forward to the next episode which is more than I can say about True Detective 2.

to be fair, in S1, literally nothing indicated 3 episodes in that we would get what we got on the 4th episode. but this season has been great anyway, so far.

You're right. Like Marty's wife in S1, nothing to do with the actual case, but she's becoming a thorn in the detective's ass.

he out here really in the field, getting stymied by hating coworkers left and right, tryna solve the disappearance with serious work and here she comes bouncing around like this is some Encyclopedia Brown/Hardy Boys shyt. I don't think the issue is necessarily her "cheating" but her whole demeanor like this is some fun escapade to get into and play undercover while he's skulking around in the woods having PSTD flare ups looking for clues to find a missing girl. came back from Nam where he was noted for being an amazing tracker and look where he's back at now. he hates this shyt .

Anyone else feel like Amelia cheated on Hays there? Interesting parallel between that scene and the one where Wayne asks her out to dinner. She comes across as manipulative. Don't think she's involved in the murder, but perhaps her fate is one where curiosity kills the cat and she's just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Don't think she cheatd yet but she already said she likes to travel to other cities and pretend to be someone else. Purple Hays should have caught on to that when she said she'd get dolled up and talk to those cops. He needed to dead that but now he sees he can't trust her. Her excitement leads you to believe that she'll do whatever for info even if she has to sleep with those cops. In her mind she's another person so it's justified. I'm really hoping we don't get a scene of her getting smutted out but it's True Detective so it'll probably happen

I don't know what John Redcorn had in that bag but them rednecks about to get that work. He looked like he he was ready to put his murder game down
