Now I know prison has elements of homosexuality and sexual brutality, but HBO went overboard with their shyt to where it's an unwatchable show despite how dope the characters were. I mean one scene it can be the doctor and priest talking calmly, next scene, some thrown at you for shock value.



Had that element been taken completely out and only used vaguely, would it have been the GOAT?

Do some already believe it's in GOAT contention?

I didn't knock off points for the homo shyt though, sometimes I laughed at the randomness of it but then shyt was on the verge of becoming gay porn. Remember when Stabler was eyeing Beecher from his cell? And I guess to intimidate Beecher. Dude turned around pulled his pants down, bent over and spread his cheeks to show him his a$$hole?

i dont know if i would refer to that as sci-fi, specifically. i can't say for sure they actually do shyt like that, but drugs gotta get tested somehow.

as far as the homo shyt, i think they were going for realism and not shock value. i got oz on my top whatever list, i can look past the gay shyt. obviously the wire didnt take it as far, but they showed omar kissing dudes a couple times. and not only is that show considered one of the goats, but the omar character itself.

Nah, the rapid aging drugs was a stupid storyline even to the point where some fans believed that's where the show jumped the shark. For a show going for realism that shouldn't have been in since that shyt was illogical in the first place and wouldn't fly IRL.

That and the shyt just got ridiculous near the end, which is why I don't have it in my top 10 shows.
