Now I know prison has elements of homosexuality and sexual brutality, but HBO went overboard with their shyt to where it's an unwatchable show despite how dope the characters were. I mean one scene it can be the doctor and priest talking calmly, next scene, some
thrown at you for shock value.
Had that element been taken completely out and only used vaguely, would it have been the GOAT?
Do some already believe it's in GOAT contention?
I heard they did that if a actor showed up late on the set then that character would be raped on the show or thrown in the hole. So blame late actors

I think it was more to embarrass the actors because all of them were straight but that could just be made up bullshyt.
Shiw was dope, but the homo shyt is the reason it has the lowest replay value of any HBO show for me.

i been away to long, my feeling died.
No this show could never be Goat , it was always in the prison so it was limited where it could go, you had the most incompetent staff in history at this prison , you putting low level non violent offenders like the art defamer and the violinist with hard core killers made no damn sense. There was a killing or rape every other episode that never got solved. You had that Martin warden just let the place go to hell on a no violence policy which made the place even crazier. No this show is top 25 to top 40 not even close to top.

all i know is i use to watch this show with my dad every sunday night back when this was coming on. i was like 14 or somethin but all i remember is later in the seasons the gay homo shyt reached a new level. it was like damn near watching gay prison porn. it got to be too awkward to watch with pops so we had to just quit watching altogether.

after season 4 they should have doubled the amount of gay sex and quadrupled the amount of rape.
ideally, the last season should have been nothing but back to blown out back scenes of brutal anal rape taking a break once or twice for that dude in the wheel chair to say some really gay shyt.

did u read that on the hbo/oz forum in the late 90's? I remember that forum and had some great discussions about characters, plots, sub-plots, axed-plots and characters that were left out!
I really wish they went with the godbody vs sunni sub-plot but thought it was a bit too much for the wider audience.
So they kept the supreme allah character away from kareem and the akhis..
