Never understood the hype. Not that he can't rap because he obviously can. But I don't see why there's such a buzz and expectation around dude when we have nothing to indicate that he would be capable of making a great album yet.
It's not like he's doing anything new. There's a whole bunch of "knowledge droppin" lyrical 5%-type rappers who can spit hot verses but came and went without making great albums. I don't see how Jay Harmonica is any better than Killah Priest, for example.

Id rather listen to Jay electronica than KRS.
Not discounting his skills or abilities or influence and catalog ut he just has better songs better lyrics more style and is more accessible to me than KRS. He actually is ten times better than KRS. And he doesnt even have a retail album out.
