It's free music. This oversaturation bs is a myth. As long as its good quality what you bytchin for? Like everyone's been saying they're makin the music they want to make. And it's FREE. Some of them like Gucci & Spitta have been dropping consistent HEAT 3-6 times a year since 2008.

It's a flip coin.

Curren$y debut album wasn't on par with his myriad of mixtapes. But, Kendrick's debut lived up to and beyond the hype of his mixtape. :yeshrug:

You know what devalued hip hop?
Radio stations and ringtone rappers, one hit wonders, and worldstarhiphop

How can you say mixtapes devalued hip hop when you got someone like Lloyd Banks who drops better mixtapes then albums.
Even many G Unit Radios were better than G Unit albums
Lupe Fiasco mixtapes better than most people albums
Classic Papoose mixtapes when everyone was rewinding saying damnn did he just say that?

Old Saigon mixtapes
A-Team mixtapes, hardhood classic
Clipse got it for cheap mixtapes
JR Writer Mixtapes, the first writer blocks

Come on man!
I rather listen to raw music then controlled music!

Ur retarded....we're talking about the issue of value..

When artists are beginning to feel like all their hard work in the studio doesnt deserve to have a price for it on a large scale..the hip hop fanbase in turn begins to devalue projects.

Thats the issue...not this "quality" debate ur trying to impute here.

the problem is too much artists lack the integrity and the aspect of worth in their music to market it the right way.

Which is why u got nikkaz putting out mixtapes with 20 songs all for free all willy nilly..because they themselves dnt value their music enough to market it a different way.

Its not the artists not putting in enough work in their art...its artists not be more proud about their music...thats why even though Kanye does alot of times act like a bytch...ppl need to adopt an attitude similar to his in that they feel their music is the greatest creation of art known to man...and treat it as such.

So yes as for the OP....The saturation of mixtapes are devaluing hip hop
