Heard them last week on a jazz station talking about re-releasing the old gems plus new music. They made music young me loved and even my kids can enjoy.

My girl said this out loud yesterday after seeing it on twitter and I immediately said 'WHAT!?!'. Another of our legends gone too soon. shyt always sucks when it comes out of left field like this. Like has been said in here by others, had no idea he was sick. De La's catalog is so damn deep and thanks to the damn fight with the label I feel like they're completely overlooked by a very large amount of ppl. It's a shame that we're on the doorstep of a lot of folks potentially learning about them for the first time, and Dave won't be around to enjoy it. That makes me sad.

RIP to him, and condolences to his friends and family.
