Understandable but illegals are not going after minimum wage jobs. They’re going after jobs where they won’t get caught and that’s usually under the table jobs that are less than minimum wage. This is a ploy by the right to shift black american’s focus onto immigration rather than the focus on securing higher/equal wages.

Black Americans speak the language and are able to go to a trade school while illegals aren’t. While black people have great disadvantages in this society, more than any other race, they still have the upper hand over illegal/South American immigrants whether you believe it or not so stop putting yourself in the sameer category.

First, as you mentioned -- you're not Black -- nor Black American. Or you're an immigrant or child of one - so no one gives a shyt what you think.

Second, YES they are. They are doing working- class jobs - maids, cleaning, customer service, lawn and landscaping, contracting, carpentry and more - and many of those jobs are minimum wage with tips-- or minimum and up.

Third, do you know how trade school works? I really doubt it.

It's a major commitment- and cost money to go. If one wants to be an electrician they can go to trade school but without a good number of verifiable experience hours gaining an apprenticeship is years away. They will become an a trainee and work 100s or hours to get to an apprenticeship.

Now say they do that, what if they have have to work to support their family or just themselves-- and cant work the trainee hours that can be sporadic. What then?They are making minimum and probably less hrs while trying to get their hours in. Plus, gas money.

And illegals get those trade school jobs you are talking about -- and with out having to go to trade school - and they have people that will fake clock them hours to get them to apprenticeship quick cause they can pay less and no insurance or union.

On your comment about buying the narrative the white man has put on us about our skills.

Who cares what they say and think?! Cause anyone that knows and reads American history and understands how America was built knows why they push that mess.

Going by that logic - what Trump said about Africans and Africa being "shytholes" and no African wants to go back. We can say every African immigrant or child of one in America only "proves what the white man (Trump) says and his narrative" about them and the continent is true.

Do some reading and research and you will find out that whites have been saying that say myth about us since Reconstruction.

And that's using the "10-12 million" number that's been bandied about since the mid-late 90s.

There's no way in hell that since the proliferation of smartphones, cheap air travel, sophisticated document forging, and all manner of outright immigration fraud (wealthy foreigners overstaying tourist visas or travelling while pregnant to give birth to "American" children) that the number of illegals has somehow stayed constant over the past 20 years.

In reality, I'd bet a good chunk of my net worth that we've got over 30 million illegals in this country. Some folks put it as high as 50-60 million.

That's a study done by a researcher at Yale University. The high end of his estimate (in 2016) was 29.6 million illegals. Imagine the political hoops he had to jump through and the career risk he took just to get that number published in a peer-reviewed journal. Something everyone in this thread needs to take heed of is that almost all net population growth in this country since the early-mid 1970s has come from immigration. The US has been hovering around replacement fertility since then. Below is a chart from the Federal Reserve with TFR going back to 1960 - note that it's never once gone substantially above 2.1 since 1972 (TFR of 2.1 is commonly accepted as "replacement fertility", meaning no net population growth over time as you're simply replacing those who die with newborns).

Imagine, right now, that the US had the same population it did in say...1980. That's 227 million people. At least 100 million less than the current population (and does anyone really believe there are only 325 million people in this country?). How much cheaper - and more convenient - housing would be. And on and on.

How many of those 10-12 million you quoted are students, workers, children or mothers who can’t work? How many are visa overstays from more “respectable countries” like in Europe?
