Everything is perceived differently based on race. When you're white, specifically a white male, you are assumed to be competent and smart. A black person is questioned. I've lost count of the times clients have asked me where I graduated, especially when I walk in with my team of white people and I'm clearly in charge lmao.
Likewise white criminality is coddled and ignored. "Boys being boys" might as well be "white boys being white boys" because all that little shyt they get away with is magnified when black boys do it.
There are plenty of studies on this. I remember when I took sociology, we watched a video where groups of white parents were shown a video of white kids throwing rocks near the railroad. Their universal response was "awww that's so cute, boys being boys etc." Later they were shown a video of black kids throwing rocks at the same railroad. The white parents immediately were disgusted and started asking where the kids' parents were, this is dangerous, etc etc. When confronted weeks later, many of the parents justified their differing reactions, often by basically saying "yea but the black kids were throwing the rocks harder..."
Some of the parents admitted to racial bias. And even they struggled to outright say yes, I made assumptions based on bias.
