Assume you're a business owner. I come to you with a pitch: I'm going to get you employees who are young and who will work as long as you want for whatever wage you can legally pay them. They're desperate and won't give you any trouble on the work site.

What would you say? No?

America is getting the equivalent of several billions of dollars in savings from the vast majority of immigrants who work in all kinds of jobs. If businesses lose those immigrants they'll raise prices to retain the locals that will demand higher wages.

Above the fray.
SMH…man I got to arguing with my Haitian roommate in college. He used to tell me since I was just “regular” black I didn’t have any “culture”

He was the biggest republican I knew at the time. I told him, even back then, they don’t see you as “Haitian” you just “black” like me bro…he used to think he was better than me because he wasn’t American….now, I’m sad for them, but I’m sure he understand what I was trying to tell him back then smh…

Trump and his people ain’t ish man. Worst of the worst…these people are good folks and should be here. They pay taxes…this gonna be a very lame as place to be soon

If you don't mind me asking, which decade and region of the country did you attend school and room with him?

Reason why I ask is that since the 1980s, Haiti, and Haitians in America have been covered in national news stories, with at least one major story each decade.
"Boat people" label, "march/legal fight for FDA to remove Haitians from high risk Aids group, Abner Louima beaten/sodomized by NYPD, rtc et etc etc

And each time, it was about the people pushing back against racism and prejudice. Even people who aren't from cities with Haitian presence can remember these stories. And every single Haitian household remembers them. Which metro did this deluded guy grow up for him to believe and express that to you?

Surely not Miami /South Florida? (your avatar)

That's probably going to be another of his many legal injunctions.

It might be a good year or two for any of them to actually be deported.
Yep. Its "temporary", so it was inevitable that people would be sent back, but the way it plays out they will leave around the time that the original granted terms (under Biden) would expire.

Ive tried taking up for Haitians so many times when other people were talking shyt on them. They are one of the most hated groups in South Florida. But all the Haitians I've met have been good people.

But my Haitian homebody told me Haitians in South Florida and Haitians in NYC are completely different.
