I disagree... this is just bone to temporarily satiate some people ... i don’t think he has any qualms with sabotaging himself and his overall, work as the nation’s “leader” for the sake of winning a smaller battle where he perceives he’s being slighted .

the fact is he is a super freshman jousting with people who have been in Washington and politics on the world stage for decades, and he is essentially going it alone at this point.

But, I guarantee that he's about to double down and turn the insanity up a notch. Trump doesn't like taking losses, and he holds grudges. Democrats are foolish to think this is over.

IMO it wasn't that. He wasn't "told" by airline execs...the reality of this farce was that it was always going to end before February. Airline travel was always going to buckle and essentially become non-workable in late January, based on TSA agents calling off work and airline traffic control in DC deciding enough is enough. Perhaps nearly as important, the IRS was completely crippled after the second week of January. Not only are people not receiving W2s on time, not to mention the threat of delayed refunds, businesses who work closely with the IRS were handicapped. That wasn't going to last. Then the final piece: SNAP and other food stamp service funding would end in February.

We're not going back to this, either, given that there are even more critical govt services in March and April that would be impacted by another long shutdown after this 3 week "ceasefire" ends. Trump played his hand and lost. Now all he can do is what he probably wanted to do from the start: declare a national emergency. It'll be stopped by the courts, but he will get to claim that he went farther than any president to secure the border, and the only way he can do it now is by electing more judges and perhaps getting a new senate majority leader who will nuke the filibuster. This is all a 2020 con. He is a GRIFTER. He will keep milking these rubes until the very end. Sure Ann Coulter was smart enough to realize he's a scam but a looooot of right wingers believe Trump is playing this masterfully and will get the Wall soon.


They'll never stop believing. Trump knows it. And he'll keep playing the long con.

That's not true. I get that most people in TLR have the same opinion of it as Trump supporters, but a lot of people do care.

When Trump fired Sessions in a clear attempt to interfere with the investigation, there was a big protest in NYC. There were other, much smaller protests in other cities too.
