Not sure what unemployment numbers really mean when the state is closing most businesses and many others are just being put out of business by the virus.

Conventional metrics are probably all status.

I'm actually...conflicted on this. We know shyt is bad. At this point, will job numbers in anyway do anything besides cause more panic in the economy? Most people accepted that the unemployment numbers are catastrophic. If there are small things at the very least that can minimize the impact on the economy, I can't say I'm totally against it and maybe or maybe not this may help a little bit.

I admit as far as economics I'm a bit dumber with that subject than others so feel free to correct my wrong thinking.

Hmmm. I get what you're saying. On the other hand I think that once the government starts deciding what the public can/cannot handle in terms of public information, democracy is slipping away.

I do get the panicking part though. I think that is why most (all?) places with Coronavirus tested the water with a 2 week quarantine even though everyone in a position of power thinks the best case scenario is +2 months. However, the benefit of the doubt is earned through prior experiences. If everyone adheres to the administration's request, can we really put it past Trump's administration to make up a number if there is no raw data to prove them wrong?
