I've been in the AF for almost 13yrs now and a Combat Controller for 10 of them. I gotta say this is bullshyt, if they want to serve then let them serve. It's not a money issue given our big our budget is in the military and even so the number of individuals converting is a small number. It has everything to do with backwards thinking republicans, if it was up to them there wouldn't be any gays in the military either. And let me tell you from experience, I have been attached to SF and Ranger units where there were gays and they were some of the biggest bada$$es I ever met. As long as we don't change the requirements and we keep the training the same across the board, I will proudly serve with a Transgender, Gay or a woman in my unit.

How would anyone even know if someone is gay though? Who you sleep with is nobodies business besides who you sleep with. I'm sure you all dont sit in briefing meetings talking about who is smashing who right?

And IMO vanity surgeries and hormonal subscriptions shouldnt be done with tax payer money. If you want to be a woman or a man thats cool, but in the military everyone wears the same clothing so all that extra stuff is purely vanity.

Also as it stands right now we have more than enough troops capable of being on the front lines.. This idea that we are in "need" of the transgender community is ridiculous
