Trump is trying to make the vaccine his legacy but he already poisoned his base by making the virus political and sending mixed messages when he was president.
Trump is trying to make the vaccine his legacy but he already poisoned his base by making the virus political and sending mixed messages when he was president.

MAGA and liberals who thought Trump was 'against the vaccine' are conveniently ignoring the obvious because they are so invested in their political party that they want to ignore the simple facts. Trump may have been anti-mandate but he was never anti-vaccine
So in other words, Trump confirms what we have LONG known about him and have been repeating over and over and over... Trump was the one that pushed the vaccines in the first place with Operation Warp Speed and is just doubling down on his original position.

I really hate to do this... but it was the Dems that really did that. There is nothing that Trump said we needed to do that the Dems didn't vilify at one point only to end up doing themselves. The left were literally the anti-vaxxers up until Inauguration Day. He definitely said some silly things during those daily Covid pressers, and the left used that to dissuade the masses from believing there were competent people developing a solution. They made it seem like Trump was cooking up the vaccine in his personal crockpot. He was also hesitant to just print money because he was conscious of the long-term economic ramifications-- now look at where we are with historic levels of inflation. Although most countries "failed" in their own way as well-- the issues here in the US can't be laid at the feet of one man. Remember when the Cuomos were heroes in the early days? Where are they now? Andrew was writing books about how he "beat" the virus
We have to be more nuanced in how we analyze these things-- that's the real power the media and politicians have over the general population. They rely on people being unable to sift through the glut of information dumped on us everyday. Notice how the border/immigration crisis (kids in cages) doesn't seem to be the humanitarian crisis it was during the election? Nothing has changed on that front-- it's just not in the headlines; so it's out of sight out of mind. Now we're pivoting back to January 6th.
Very respectfully, I think you may be making up arguments in your own head about this. I think everyone is aware of his previous position as being in favour of vaccination.
I would imagine that, projecting a little from my own view, people are surprised that a man whose political positions are born of expediency has doubled down, and not retreated, in the face of opposition from his own base. He is usually a weathervane when it comes to any positions, but is idly signposting on this one.

The logical conclusion to all this sht was delayed for so long it was defying logic itself.
Never lost hope tho. It hasn’t quite happened yet but I know you feel it too
Until then, let’s imagine the absolute maximum capacity of fukkery if Trump went full swing anticovid and became the democratic nominee in 2024![]()
Everyone isn't aware of his previous position in favor of the vaccination because a lot of these same people were mockingly calling people against the vaccine Trumptards and screaming Maga this and that.
Anybody that is 'surprised' at Trump hasn't been paying attention or is either completely naive on how this system works.. He has never once been against the vaccine, nor has he backed down from pushing it, which isn't surprising because he's part of the system.
‘There is a large crossover between MAGA people; trump supporters; and anti-vaxers. It does not s-eat necessarily to what they think of. Trump himself’s position. I mean, most people clowned him for wanting to rename the vaccines ‘Trumps’.
I don’t really understand what you mean by ‘how this system works’. It’s not as if people don’t have enough to laugh at him for without his position on vaccines.
It is admirable that he is pushing his base, or at least those who were his base, to be vaccinated, even if it comes from a position of self-aggrandisement. It does stink somewhat of the old adage that even a fukked clock is right two times per day.
