The funniest part is that steel and and aluminum are major manufacturing inputs. The US already has tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum imports, and is very reliant on Canadian imports to meet its overall demand. Huge tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum will simply make US manufacturing even less competitive.

Im sure he has a long-term strategy though, just some short-term pain
