So how do you feel about having an understaffed agency for potentially months with and incoming administration pushing to restart the nuclear arms race?

Concern? This is blatant fear-mongering.
There is no evidence the administration plans to keep those roles unfilled or that they have fired anyone. But even if they did fire them (or they chose to resign) the NNSA has deputies in those positions who in theory should know the ropes.
Have you ever worked somewhere where a high level person left and the company used recruiters to find a replacement? Sometimes positions stay open for months but duties are re-assigned in the interim. Or an actual interim position is created until a permanent hire is secured. Do these companies collapse? No.
If you're so concerned about positions being filled maybe you should ask the Democrats why they want to play games with confirmation hearings by delaying appointments and putting national security at risk.
With the way Obama has politicized nearly EVERY branch of this govt it would be foolish to not expect the new administration to cut ties. It was a contentious election and the new admins position on nukes is different from the old admin.
Are ANY contracts set to expire anytime soon? We don't know this because no one with any real knowledge will go on record.
So what is the actual fear here? What is going to happen? We are going to get "nuked" because of open government positions?
