You know what? I've heard foreign policy experts basically say that Trump's approach to foreign policy isn't THAT bad

Defending Donald Trump … Again?
Why?
Because he approaches this shyt like a negotiation. He's unpredictable and we need to shake shyt up a bit. He's not an idiot. He's brash and vocally unkempt, but his strategy towards getting more involvement isn't that unfavorable and its not that radical of an assertion to get people to assess what people want from us and to be more appreciative of it
oh, and all politicians are equally as vague as he is, so whats the difference? That he's not as streamlined in vocal tics? I mean thats just adapting to how "politicians" sound...doesn't mean he's no more or less "educated" about the topic than the average talking-head giving a stump speech.

call a spade a spade, but don't make trump sound more reasonable than he is by making low-effort comments

Alright, I fast-forwarded some parts and I will say that he will wait (general time) to go into detail. He's giving you a small sample now on what he will do. Trump is no idiot, I see what he's doing.
shyt is trash. A foreign policy based on cutting deals. But he'll send troops to fight ISIS too with other countries even though they won't be allowed in the country to talk strategy
He also completely disregards climate change in favor of increasing military spending even though that's gonna be the worlds biggest conflict threat in years to come
He has no foresight or plan here he just wants to pander to nationalism.

It is not that he is vague but rather that he so blatantly has no grasp of geopolitics and is completely devoid of even an ounce of nuance. It is like a 6th grader's view of foreign policy. Trump is willfully ignorant about this stuff and to try and act like there are any positives to the utter bullshyt word salad he spewed today is an exercise in mental gymnastics that only someone equally as ignorant on these issues as Trump would even attempt.
