He's not getting out because the State charges kick in automatically, which includes life sentences. He still has to do 150-200 years (technically life) of his sentence due to his convictions in '73, but he'll be up for parole within that timeframe; in all likelihood, he'll die in prison by then.

All this did was remove federal charges, which were for his '97 CCES (Continuing Criminal Enterprises Statute) conviction so he'll still be sitting behind bars in a jumpsuit for state murder charges unless the state governor chooses to commute his sentence, which is very unlikely considering the crimes he committed.

It's the same thing with the Chauvin pardon idea that was tossed around, he'd still be sitting inside even if the federal charges were dropped due to his own state convictions against him.
