I think it would become a bigger issue if she actually ran for high office. IIRC when she went for MA Senator the first time vs Scott Brown, I'm pretty sure he ran a few attack ads about her political leaning. I'd say Warren's progressive record as of late would quickly squash the negative ads though. Hillary's issue is that some of her stances do align with the neocons so its harder for her to deny her Republican side.
Part of their maturation was outright rejection of their previous stances for personal self fulfillment, not political gain.
No one faults Hillary for changing her stance. It's that when she changes her stance she:
1) Argues that she never thought differently
2) Then argues that though she never thought differently, how she used to think was right given the era and statistics she was privy too - pragmatism
3) That she shouldn't be judged because every other politician, which translates to every other man, has done the same thing to get where they're at
4) Pushes the idea that she was a progressive on the issue that lead to change
5) Shouldn't be held accountable for the consequences of her previous actions/ideas because.....life.
