Gotcha I figured that would be the case scenario. So I’m assuming Trump’s gameplan is some “you need me, more than I need you” game of chicken steeze. In the short term the American consumer(especially those with lower income) will feel the brunt but by doing performative things in the short term, taking care of “DEI”, “Trans” etc. it sounds like Trump is banking on that pacifying the idiots who voted from him long enough so that these other countries cave and come back to the table to renegotiate terms.

The price of the product going up for American consumers can ultimately hurt demand for the Colombian products.

I THINK the idea behind it American business will now be discouraged from buying from Colombia and seek to do business with nations that offer the same products at a cheaper rate. Not sure though.
