We are dealing with a con man plain and simple. He makes pronouncements out of ass without any thought until it runs into reality, then he backs off.
If a CEO ran a midsize corporation in the same unstrategic and haphazard manner Trump runs the most powerful nation in the world, he would be fired by the board immediately
It would be one thing if his chaos served a larger strategic purpose, but it doesn’t. It’s just pure stupidity and incompetence all for the gratification of his massive ego.
Truthfully, I would rather deal with an evil genius in the mold of dikk Cheney than deal with a unpredictable lunatic like Trump. Atleast, I can game for the former.

Trump being a conman suggests he's in on the con, which is what @88m3 seems to think. I think Trump, in this case, is the unpredictable lunatic who's plans may have run into reality.
Still, I want out of those wars yesterday, and take no joy in Trump not making it happen.
For one, how about not letting the Kurds get massacred again like we did when we abandoned them with Herbert Walker Bush.
