1) trump cannot undo birthright citizenship per se but it’s an open legal question whether children born with 2 illegal alien parents or tourist visas fall under the jurisdiction (which is the constitutional requirement) of the us, so it is possible for trump to do a narrow order that targets that and for that order to pass muster with the Supreme Court

my theory is that the white house has been working on this for a while and trump jumped the gun with the announcement for political reasons to rile people up for the midterms . but baring impeachment there is a 90 percent chance that after the midterms trump will make a very narrow order targeting those 2 specific groups mentioned above and there is a 100 percent chance it will end up in the supreme court and 80 percent chance it will be allowed to stand
