Yeah, but his loyal base been dying in large amounts since Nov 2020, like FL losing almost 120k people from COVID in just 2 years.

Plus, you forgot about the anti-vaxx MAGA base that turned against Trump after Trump pleaded to his base to take the vaccine. He had to cancel his tour dates because of the lack of tickets sold.

Depressed Democratic turnout in 2024 can easily make up for that. And I wouldn't count on antivaxxers not voting for Trump. They might bytch but Republicans fall in line during elections.

I'm not saying Trump has it in the bag, but after 2016 it's foolish to think it couldn't happen.

i see '24 playing out in one of a few ways. the good news is the dems get to freeze out trump, and make him declare he's running. republicans have to show their hand first

1. trump runs. in that case, i guess the dems' best shot is gonna be to try to get biden's corpse across the finish line but he doesn't get to hide in the basement this time. he's gonna look terrible on the campaign trail

even with all of trumps weaknesses, this is gonna be a bad parallel in '24. trump is gonna be barnstorming the country with rallies, democrats are probably still gonna be wearing masks

2. if republicans are smart enough to run some young ticket like desantis/noem, they blow biden/kamala out of the water. without the threat of trump, joe biden is not a viable candidate to lead this country until 2029. politics wont even matter

3. a brand new dem nominee and VP appear out of nowhere. this seems unlikely which is a fukking shame, because they can run on bidens successes but just deflect all the negatives to him. "our leadership turned the country around, afghanistan wasnt my fukkin fault", etc

You've gotta make an actual case here. As I see it, Trump barely lost in a handful of swing states when exhaustion with him, his fukkery, and his handling of Covid had peaked. I mean let's not forget the absolute sprint of fukkery that led up to the election.

Biden has not done a great job on Covid, has alienated most of his "base" constituencies (base used about as strongly as you can use it for a neoliberal democrat...black people, young people, progressives with nowhere else to turn), and has a sub-40 approval rating. And "moderate" white women are doing their usual moderate white women shyt and starting to swing back red.

How does any of this guarantee Trump won't win?
