Insurance companies already sent notifications to those on ACA marketplace plans telling them about the increase in premiums. If the Democrats fought tooth and nail to save it and it gets taken away anyways, there is no way Republicans in Congress will be able to handle the heat and they’d get steamrolled in the midterm elections. There is no shred of intellectualism in the Trump administration or in the Republican Party. Trumps had concepts of a plan for healthcare for damn near a decade. Monkeys on a typewriter have a better chance of writing a replacement to the ACA than any Republican including Trump. He can “two weeks”Ukraine and Gaza but premiums going up for millions of Americans especially those in red states? People will feel the impact of that more, especially red states/Trump voters who don’t give a shyt about foreign policy anyways. It will be felt even more than tariffs.
If Democrats just rolled over because Trump would impound the funds, they’d catch heat from their own voters and any Trump voter who’d blame them for not stopping them from hurting themselves.
