That’s why he keeps referring to crime and invasion. As long as there is some hyperventilating issue like immigrants invading the border it’s easier to get people to go along with stuff as “ just restoring order” or “that’s the law”( selectively applied of course)
I think Stephen Miller and Trump really thought there would be some, ironically, January 6 type event by now on the left against his policies. See how quickly they got energized when Kirk got shot but it turned out to be a white, Mormon gamer and fizzled out.
As long as the November 2026 election still sits out there as hope to change things I don’t think things will pop off to his satisfaction.
