Trump voter loses government contract.

I hate that this is all happening, but I'm glad it's not skipping over people like this. I hope he loses everything and his wife divorces him and he's never allowed to see his kids again, and dies broke and alone in an alley somewhere.

Who cares about small minority of his voters feeling buyers remorse.

Make them fear you. Learn how to handle a weapon, if you can afford one. Stop supporting their business, let them know they are trash. Republicans use bully tactics. Hit them in their pockets and make them fear you.

I called this ish a mile away, how can those folks be so stupid? Funny how the fate they wanted for others ended up being their own. I guess that hate was worth it...:francis:

They dug a grave for others and forgot to dig one for themselves...:yeshrug:
That’s how the universe works:blessed:

Time and time again.

‘I Feel So Stupid’: Poll Shows Huge Percentage of Trump Voters Regretful After His Sweeping Dismantling of American Values

Great, they feel bad. Now how do we DEAL with them?

By Andrew Simpson

February 19, 2025

Last month, the Wall Street Journal released the results of a poll that was conducted after the election, but before the inauguration of Donald Trump. It sampled 1,500 Trump voters by both cell phone and landline — that second one is code for geezers these days — and by text messages inviting people to take the poll online.

The results were predictable, following the immediate announcements that Trump made after the election. It’s true of any candidate, of course: You can campaign one way, then tell your voters the morning after the election that you are someone entirely different, if you like.

The built-in mechanism that Trump has to combat the fury that anyone else who did something like that would likely face is that mostly, Trump voters just wait to decide what they think until after he’s told them what they think.

The highlights of the poll were:

  • 53% wanted to see significant change to the way government works, BUT…
  • More than 60% oppose his idea for doing so by replacing thousands of career civil servants with people loyal to him.
  • More than 60% also oppose eliminating the Department of Education.
  • Just 18% support his plan to overrule Congress and give himself more power over spending (which is important, because, duh, DOGE).
  • Just under 75% (!) say that only undocumented immigrants with criminal records should be deported. That is, people who have committed crimes other than simply entering the country illegally.
  • 50% said having Elon Musk as an advisor was a bad idea.
  • 64% oppose ending birthright citizenship.
  • Only 48% supported Trump’s tariffs.

Now, this is kind of a mixed bag of things that Trump was pretty clear about all along, and things that he got louder and more forceful on AFTER the election. Some of these things have been implemented in ways that could not have been foreseen until he did them. For example, he was clear about having Musk as an advisor — and indeed there has been a steady stream of hardcore Trumpers who insist that they intended to “elect” Musk right along with Trump.

But no one could have imagined that within just weeks of assuming the presidency, Trump would allow Musk access and control over every taxpayer in America’s personal information through the US Treasury. That was never brought up during the campaign, just like he never brought up that Musk would oversee the dismantling of several US agencies that never came up in debate: USAID, the National Park Service, etc.

Now WSJ has published a follow-up to the poll, and the level of regret is staggering.

They interviewed Staci White, a nurse at a dialysis unit in Omaha, Nebraska. She fears for her husband’s “government-adjacent” job, and says that at her own place of employment, the staff have begun doing ICE drills for what to do if the border agency comes to deport her patients, now that Trump has lifted the Biden-era ban on raiding “sensitive areas” like hospitals, schools, and churches.

“When we said safer borders, I thought he was thinking ‘let’s stop the drugs from coming into the country,’” she said. “I didn’t know he was going to start raiding places.” She said she didn’t believe he would actually follow through on some of the more hard-line policies he touted during the campaign.

“Now I’m like: ‘Dang, why didn’t I just pick Kamala?’”

The publication also interviewed Emily Anderson of Duluth, Minnesota, who used to consider herself a Democrat but inexplicably backed Trump after the candidate she liked — RFK, Jr. — dropped out and endorsed Trump. She now considers Kennedy’s appointment to Health and Human Services to be the only good thing about her vote that she calls the “biggest mistake of my life.”

She is horrified by Trump’s focus on deportations and use of Guantanamo Bay to hold migrants. She alleged that Trump has been too focused on “ridiculous” flashy moves, such as banning paper straws and renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”

Her daughter’s occupational therapist has stopped taking new patients over fears that the practice will have its federal funding dry up.

“I feel so stupid, guilty, regretful—embarrassed is a huge one. I am absolutely embarrassed that I voted for Trump,” said Anderson, 30.

A separate survey by the Pew Research Center found that 47% of Americans, as of February, oppose “all or most” of Trump’s plans for the country. His disapproval rating is higher than 50%.

“At first glance, ‘oh no,’ you cringe. You’re like ‘holy s— he’s going to start a war,’” said Denver resident Gary Dixon. “He’s doing 80 miles an hour. I wouldn’t mind if he went around 55.”

Gosh, Gary. The rest of us think he’s off the tracks completely.

She voted for Trump, but getting fired by him made her “feel like trash.”

NEW - After decades at McDonald’s, she took a job at the IRS in Kansas City. It was exactly the kind of work she wanted.

She had just 3 weeks left in probation. She voted for Trump but says Musk has too much power

On the one hand, I feel pity for her as a suffering human being. On the other hand, I feel enraged that she couldn't see the chaos that was obviously going to come for everyone if Republicans won the election.

I cannot read this article. I see some of it.

So are these people really blaming Musk and not Trump? Or did she end up admitting that Trump was also to blame here? Because this is very telling.

If Musk is who MAGA will blame then would they not also have to admit that Trump has no power?

18/25
‪Ashley Lyn‬ ‪@ashes2231.bsky.social‬

Will they demand their savior to take back America from the man he put in charge? Do these people really believe Musk is acting without his support and approval- when he has said publicly he supports Musks cuts and wants more?
