Because Nancy Pelosi is the old guard, she may be registered as a Democrat, but at heart she is Republican. She is scared of true Progressives even though they are the people who will ultimately save the Democratic party. She has the experience to bury Trump but she would have to sacrifice herself in the process and she isn't willing to do that.

I think you're overstating it a bit here, the political back and forth is constructed, its real, there are just outlying forces that exist unrelated to the political jargon that cause the real worldwide damage.
Laws that both parties create that hurt the people. No one was talking about deportation until Trump came along. It was done by Bush, Clinton and Obama so while people are fighting about Twitter accounts, real actions have already taken place.
