What would you say to the argument that impeaching Trump will help him (and other Republicans) get reelected? :patrice:

It's clearly DOA in the Senate anyway, white America doesn't mind Trump being a racist (in fact it got him elected) so I doubt they'll even flinch at voting not to convict.

Granted, maybe it's the morally right thing do to, but I kinda worry that impeachment just gives him a free ticket to rile up his base and complain about "presidential harassment".

Impeaching Trump for something that is of controversial validity, or controversial rightness, could indeed help him.

But this ain't that. He said it right out in public in front of everyone. He openly told four Congresswoman, all four citizens of the United States, 3 out of 4 born right here in the United States, that they have no right to an opinion because of their ethnicity. Half of those women are from families who have been here LONGER than his own family has. It's pure fukking racism and there's no juelzing his way out of it.

The impeachment, if played correctly, will make very, very clear that a president who claims non-White people aren't really Americans in the same way everyone else is is not a president of the entire United States. Trump has relinquished his own authority. The impeachment, done correctly, will make the case from that and all the other bullshyt racist things he's done that he cannot serve as the president for all Americans.

When he said the racist shyt about the hispanic judge, even Republicans from his own party had to call him out and say it was "textbook racism". This one is even worse than that one was. So the impeachment will put every single Republican (and Democrat) on the spot. Do you call it what it is, do you call it racism, or do you defend it with some juelzing bullshyt? And if you admit that it's racism, and that Trump has a clear pattern of racism, how do you defend that he can still serve as president?

You still won't get them to convict. But you will put every single one of them on the spot and force them to talk about it. And every single one of his supporters will be forced to defend not only why he shouldn't be impeached, but why he should be reelected if he's an open racist.

90% of his White supporters won't care. But he'll lose more votes than he gains.

They don't want an Impeachment battle to stretch into the final stages of the election as Trump will use it to energize his base and to undermine his opponent.

Just how Trump is using cultural tropes to attack his opponents they should do the same. Rather than trying to take the moral high ground they should have just told him to go back to Nazi Germany. Every time he opens his mouth drive the message home. Nazi, Germany, post conflict Trials, following orders, escaping to Argentina, Heil Trump, bunker, ranting, propaganda. Use all those old Nazi tropes to establish themes and make them amusing where possible. These themes will be useful for when the real election offensive begins.

Trump does the same in reverse. "Sleepy Joe", "Lying Hillary" and other the other witticisms are there for a purpose. He starts early to build a narrative (a Brand even) which he can then refer to directly or indirectly to undermine them.

When Trump tweets refer to it as a "message from the bunker" (suggesting he is hiding and on his way to defeat). When Trump tweets reply "Jawohl". When he insults you in his parades, ask him whether he has purchased his tickets for Argentina. When he insults how someone looks, tell him his own appearance is letting SS standards slip. When he preens, call him "Dear Fuehrer" once and then "Dear Leader" after that. Keep that messaging strong. There is lots of stuff out there (thanks Hollywood) which can be used to say things, without directly saying them and to condense a lot of meaning into a few words.

This is real shyt. Regardless of anyone's position on any this of we should see the bigger picture and not be so dismissive of the situation that we fukk ourselves over.
In chess we are taught to think several steps ahead.
The fact that people are so resigned to this type of behavior from the POTUS is the most alarming aspect of this. Not his actions, but Americans' reactions.

These actions of his are actually feelers. They serve the purpose of seeing just how far he can extend his abuses without consequence. And they help ease Americans gradually into the complete loss of rights.
Nobody can come and and just stage a coup.

But you can gently ease people into it with small abuses. Give them frequent doses of small offenses, until it's just a way of life. By doing so you are allowing people to mentally find equilibrium with the horrors you will seek to inflict upon them.

A lot of people think all Germans in Nazi Germany were complicit with the concentration camps immediately. But a lot of Germans were actually just normal everyday citizens trying to rebuild their lives after a devastating economic depression. The German propoganda machine was so potent that many others didn't even know the evil shyt that was going down in the factories.

We sit in judgement but who the fukk knows what is happening to millions of blk prisoners in private prisons. Or were these missing blk female children keep going each day. Or what is happening in immigrant camps at the border.

What people have to ask themselves if they are thinking ahead is what factors have happened recently in the past few years that make the POTUS and other leaders feel comfortable in ramping up the anti-ANYTHING that's not white rhetoric.

This shyt doesn't come out of nowhere. Efforts are being coordinated. Increases in whites calling the cops on blks for breathing. Increases in school shootings. Increases in hate crimes and alt-right rhetoric and violence against minorities and women.

Even on this very website. If we dumb enough to be distracted by bullshyt then we can say anything on our way to the ovens.

He has a point tho....Duh like 3 of the chicks was born here but the other 2 ain’t from here. You get what he saying...

But y’all gne stay with the fake outrage...
Ok so what exactly does he have a point on. Let's take the one who wasn't born here like Illhan. What has she said or done that implies she "hated America"? You do know that outside of being a black Muslim immigrant their main gripe and reason for piling on her is because she criticized the US being heavily influenced by lobbying groups like AIPAC when it comes to foreign policy. I guess you disagree with that.

Please don't run away here. Be specific about "his point". For some reason I think you just made this post to be "different" without any specific agreement you had with what was stated. Please prove me wrong.

P.s. 2 out of 5 is not even a majority. Lol. Folks are so desperately eager to "different" and contrarian that they make excuses for just blatant ignorance. Trump assumes they're all immigrants because he is an ignorant dumbass who according to reports struggles to even listen to intelligence briefings in the morning. Stop making excuses for what is just straight ignorant stupidity.
