The issue with Brittany is what she's being held in Russia for (illegal weed oils or whatever it is) that makes it problematic for the Biden Administration to make a demand or put an offer/exchange on top of the whole Ukraine-Russia war going on the US isn't tryna make negotiations or get involved with a country (Russia) considered to be an enemy of the US at this moment.
TBH I don't think there's anything the US could do for Brittany to be releasedshe's in a real tricky situation and some of the blame falls on her but the rest (Ukraine-Russia-US situation) is/was outta her control.
Rocky's situation in Sweden wasn't so sticky and was a little easier to resolve.

She's stuck like Chuck for the moment. Truth is... when Biden and Putin were saber rattling on the issue of Ukraine, every American should have got the heck out of dodge. I get that folks didn't think it was gonna happen, but see, I'd have been thinking ahead like
"what if Putin invades Ukraine and decides to keep me as a hostage?"I'd have thought about that scenario and got the heck up outta the way. But I'm not trying to victim blame, I get that folks weren't sure. And if she knew for sure that it was going to happen, she probably would have left sooner.
But yeah, Russia will hold her for hostage and leverage, and the US's foreign policy is to give no quarter or ground to Russia right now. They can't show any cracks in the armor.
And truth is... when you're negotiating for someone's release, you lowkey have to make it seem like they're worthless and that you don't care. For all these idiots in here who keep asking why Biden ain't mentioning her name every 5 minutes, every single time her name is uttered by the President of the United States, her value to Russia goes up and they are more inclined to keep her hostage.
To get her free, you have to act like she's meaningless and that she holds no value and so there's no reason to keep her.

She made a really bad decision bringing some shyt on a plane that she could’ve bought back home. Cannabis isn’t even legal on the federal level in the USA so feds aren’t making her priority.

Yeah and I'm sure there's folks in the Biden administration who want to bring her home.
But their hands are tied. I keep hearing that Russia is mentioning an arms dealer thats in prison here, and maybe they're willing to do a swap?
If Biden and them swap a dangerous arms dealer for freakin Brittany Griner, that would be laughable and ridiculous.
But even if they did go ahead with that swap, I'm sure it wouldn't be a clean swap. Rest assured the Biden administration would be getting something on the back end.

I would imagine this is Russia's way of trying to apply pressure to the US government by once again trying to use black ppl as puppets, cause many of us are too foolish to understand geopolitical stakes. I think Russia has been hoping all this time that black people would cause a ruckus about Brittany but they miscalculated and didn't realize that unfortunately she's not that popular among black people.
So now they're trying to use the ASAP Rocky situation to try to engineer faux outrage among us hoping that it works to their benefit.
