I made the mistake of watching the JRE clip on USAID. Rogan and some insufferable ass dude named Bret Weinstein or something
Anyway they were acting like it was the best move in american history. They think Elon just discovered billions in corruption and backroom deals. Even if that is true (doubt it)......what impact will this have on me? My taxes going down now? fukk no. And they don't care, everything for them is about owning libs or hurting some group they feel is beneath them.
I saw somewhere that USAID is less than 1% of the annual budget but getting rid of it has devastating impact on the countries/groups that need the aid and it helps american farmers since part of a lot of the aid is using their crops to ship overseas so now those farmers will be hit hard

But in those spaces, you have these half-illiterate, low-to-moderate-income idiots—people who will absolutely be impacted by moves like this— are actually cheering it on, as if this is some kind of trivial, bipartisan sports match instead of real life.
We are living in a real-life idiocracy.

This has been covered before, over the past 30-40 years or so Republicans have convinced their base that they’re a bunch of “temporarily disposed rich people” so they don’t even associate with their own economic interests. They associate with the economic interests of the rich because I think they will be rich one day after their “hard work” pays off.
The example I always use is a guy named Joe the Plumber from the Obama campaign. This nuthouse had a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask Obama a question and he asked using numbers based on Obamas tax hike on the rich.
