This is lowkey genius. We know Trump's base is ride or die, but if he can pass another DACA-ish program or better yet the DREAM Act he'll get a lot of dems on his side for the 2020 election

President Trump Tweets Massive Damage Control After Alleged DACA Deal
Donald Trump woke up Thursday to a massive storm after the Associated Press reported he had struck a deal with his new friends “Chuck and Nancy” to protect DACA without a promise on wall funding.
In their exact words.
It came in hard.
Sean Hannity called it “political suicide,” “Amnesty Don,” blared on Breitbart, the MAGASphere exploded.
It’s unclear what prompted the storm. Trump has been hate-viewing Morning Joe recently and the show was all over it during their first hour, (or maybe he just looked at his timeline), but whatever it was left him spooked enough to take to Twitter and clarify this alleged deal that was struck.
It was a remarkable four-part tweet storm which simultaneously denied the existence of a deal, yet seemingly confirmed that some kind of deal was afoot.
He also said the wall was still a priority.
In two immediate follow ups, Trump offered a full-throated defense of the DREAMers and reiterated his past statements of sympathy for the 800,000 strong cohort of illegal immigrants.

MAGA Twitter Turns on Trump Over Alleged DACA Deal With Dems: ‘Who DOESN’T Want Trump Impeached?’
A good chunk of Donald Trump‘s base has taken to Twitter in order to vent their fury over the president’s reported new deal with Democrats.
Last night, indications suggested that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer made a deal where Trump would allow for protections to DACA recipients, and Congressional Democrats would say yes to new border security (except for the building of a border wall). Trump got on Twitter to dispute the notion of any deal and talk about how he’ll expand security barriers that already exist.
He also ran defense for DREAMers.
As it were, if you head on over to the MAGA side of the Internet, you’ll find quite a few people who are not very happy with how things are going.
Of course, if Bill Mitchell is any indication, it’s possible that some of Trump’s base will see the president’s latest maneuver as a totally consistent, politically intelligent decision.
