Anyways, it's interesting West Virginia was one of the deepest of blue areas in the countries until sudden it flipped all of a sudden. From 1932-1996, WV only voted for the Republican candidate for President 3 times (1956, 1972, 1984). Since 2000, WV has been solidly Republican....WTF? What happened?

I think I read that WV now has the most millionaires per capita in the United States. That kind of disparity between the poor and the rich in such a small state is way more 3rd world country than we are used to seeing in the US. Classic example of a mostly white area that are angry because they are not thriving like they were when coal was essential, and since they are white, they refuse to look towards the millionaires that made thier money off thier backs and didn’t give back, so they blame immigrants and liberals. The Democratic Party was not as openly progressive as they have become over the last 20 years.

It's crazy that West Virginia was one of the 2 states (also Oklahoma) in which all counties voted for Trump. That's how red they've become, racism and bigotry really is something isn't it .

Yeah, it’s crazy how this country was built on it, and how sacrilege it is to so many people to come out and say you are not in love with some of the ideals that so many people hold so dear. We are taught from a very early age that you either love every single fukking part of what the flag represents or you are a treasonous piece of shyt. People like Trump, just as an example, are considered beyond reproach by so many people, while he creates division and tears down social programs implemented to help our most vulnerable citizens survive, but someone like Kaepernick is considered a fukking villainous traitor just for trying to point out “something is wrong”. West Virginia is a perfect example of what is wrong with this country, and how racism, and political money spent on campaigns can shift a whole state towards voting against thier own interests. I do believe though, EVERY state is up for grabs right now. I mean, though Manchin, to me anyway is a DINO, he still was voted in on Dem ticket. I thin’ the GOP is so toxic right now, that a progressive willing to put in some heavy duty effort in WV, they could grab it. As racist as they are, they HAVE to be sick of seeing so many family and friends die from opioids. If someone went down there and actually tried to do something about it, unlike this administration, they would probably win.
