Remember the example i gave earlier of police establishing a curfew in my town. Had no crime before. Suddenly they are arresting a pepper spraying people left and right.

Uh if the Feds wanted to get involved there are the US Marshals and/or FBI at their disposal. To even link a crime wave by minors to the necessity of martial law and federalizing the MPD makes a lot of you all look like the scared old White ladies watching Fox News. Even Nixon/Reagan didn't do this when the crime in the 70s and 80s was WAY worse.

I say this as someone with a concealed carry permit that believes DC/MD strict gun laws are an issue for law abiding citizens to protect themselves and doesn't blink an eye when someone threatening another's life gets taken out.

I work in corrections. Rehabilitation starts with prevention, doofus.

You start by improving schools and housing.

For those already incarcerated, you start with re-entry case management the day a justice-involved person enters the facility, whether it's a week or 50 years before they're released. Set people up for success or you fail them.
