I’m not a trump supporter I’m just speaking facts why would Bernie take a vp position at his age if he don’t get the nominee

All I'm saying, is that progressive policies are getting more popular by the day. Yeah, there is still a great chance that Bernie is going to win the nomination due to all that money he raised in Q3.

I think Trump is probably going to win regardless of who his opponent is.

Not because he's politically astute or popular (lol), but because Dem voters are going to infight and not turn out.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in this.

Moody’s based its projections on how consumers feel about their own financial situation, the gains the stock market has achieved during Trump’s tenure and the prospects for unemployment, which has fallen to a 50-year low. Should those variables hold up, the president looks set to get another four-year term.

Stock market gains and unemployment rate numbers are so disconnected from the reality of working peoples’ lives nowadays that they are outdated metrics to judge elections imo

My thing is... I don't see how he's winning Virginia and Minnesota. Don't even see him winning Michigan. What has Trump done to expand his support?

He's of course got a good shot in Wisconsin which is a real 50/50 state. Pennsylvania has tilted bluer since 2017.
I hear you, but it’s always felt to me like he doesn’t have to do anything...his critics are doing all the work for him. fukked up, but I work in Trumpland and that’s what I hear more often than not :ld:

Really depends on who the candidate is.

Someone scary like Warren/ Sanders could motivate the centrists to stick with the devil they know so as to avoid having their cheese moved.

Somebody milquetoast like Biden could suppress democratic turnout.

Neither scenario seems likely to me. Trump doesn’t seem like he’s growing or on pace to have a have an infusion of new voters.

If Trump wins the national election in 2020, especially if he wins the popular vote...I'd consider that a major red flag and a sign that our democracy has completely failed us.

I think it's a bit naive to suggest that 2020 will have average turnout (based on what we saw in 2018) and I don't think this is a typical "what's my wallet looking like" election...since Trump will likely face impeachment at some point but we'll see. Ultimately it's on the Democrats to drive turnout + demonstrate that this isn't a typical election and Trump is not a typical incumbent.
