Based on the expected turnout. The 2018 midterm turnout was crazy. If that’s a sign of what it’ll look like in 2020 Trump will lose, but it’s way early and a lot can change.

Conservative base isn't really growing. Dems could win every national election if they get the turnout. Problem is that Dems fluctuate a lot on enthusiasm.
GOP doesn't care, they just want their side to win. Dems have to really like someone to vote for him/her, which is why Hilary lost. If Hilary was a Republican, she would have won easily because the GOP would have held their nose and voted for her, even if they hate her.
